My Fall Uniform

September 18, 2017

Outfit

Shirt | Pants (c/o) | Poncho (c/o)

If I were to describe to you the perfect fall outfit, it would go something like this: comfy jeans, a good pair of boots, and layers with a twist. It’s actually more of a uniform for me when the weather hits below 70 and this year there are so many great brands that have pulled out all the stops when creating their Fall 2017 lines. And Banana Republic is no exception. Beautiful muted colors, structured pieces to go from day to night, and statement plaids are all part of their new arrivals.

Beautiful bold colors – who else is loving the olive greens of this season?! – structured pieces that go from day to night, and a fun twist on the boho chic style are all part of their new arrivals. And of course, we can’t forget the return of the classics – like the trench, the pencil skirt, and an updated classic, skinny jean.

One of the things I appreciate so much about Banana Republic is their attention to detail. Quality has always followed their clothing. I bought my first classic tan trench coat from their petite clearance rack years ago and it’s still a staple of my spring and fall wardrobe. As a petite person, the variety of petite clothing Banana Republic offers is music to my ears. The latest denim in their collection, the Zero Gravity jeans, are without a doubt some of the best skinny jeans I’ve ever worn. They have just enough stretch in the denim to be comfortable without stretching out and the petite fit is perfect for my 5’1″ frame. (I’m wearing a size 25 petite for reference.)

And if you’re looking for layers, their line of sweaters, ponchos, and jackets are swoon-worthy. This poncho is a beautiful, one-size-fits-all and the coziest blanket/jacket I’ve ever encountered.

And although the fall temps haven’t quite cooperated with us yet  – it was, in fact, 85 degrees when we shot this look – I’m going to be wearing the collection on repeat when those chilly days finally do arrive.
