All About the Lashes

Whenever I go in for any type of cosmetic or spa treatment it’s often a result of weeks of weighing pros and cons, deciding if it’s suitable for my lifestyle and finding out if it’s worth the money. I didn’t grow up in a “pamper yourself” household, I had never tried a face mask until my mid-20s, and I’m a very low maintenance girl.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good face mask now and I truly think that if you spend the time and money investing in good skin care you’ll never regret it. Last year (almost a year ago!) I decided to take the plunge and get eyelash extensions before my wedding. I liked the idea of not having to wear eye makeup (especially since we were heading to Mexico on our honeymoon) and my lashes have a mind of their own anyway.

If any of you have tried the eyelash extension process before you know how expensive and invasive it is. I think I paid almost $200 for a classic set of lashes and while they were beautiful and the technician did a great job, I found it 100% terrible that I couldn’t rub my eyes if they itched, I couldn’t sleep with my face smushed into the pillow (like I normally do) and if I wanted to not look like a witch after week 3 I had to go back and get them refilled. Needless to say, I loved the result, but ultimately they were not for me.

Fast forward to last week. In collaboration with a local spa here in Greenville, Organic Tan Face and Body, I had the incredible privilege of picking a treatment. Y’all the options at this spa are incredible! Amazing facials, tans, lash services, nails, etc. I had been hearing a LOT about a new-ish service called a Lash Lift and Tint.

Courtney from Pretty Little Fawn had just mentioned the service in a post and I loved the idea of it. What it does is take your natural lashes, apply a perm treatment to them (so they stay curled) and then tint your lashes so they have the appearance of mascara. Needless to say, I was ready to give it a try.

The sweet lady doing my lashes was the sweetest and most patient person I’ve met and she walked me through the entire process as she was conducting it so I knew exactly what was going on. *Helpful because you’re laying on a table with your eyes closed for an hour!

Although my eyes tend to water when I’m laying down we got through the treatment and the results are truly amazing! The treatment will last about 4-6 weeks and stay in this beautiful, curled shape for just as long.

Needless to say, I’m hooked on the process! The photos in this post were only taken with one quick swipe of mascara on and I’m perfectly comfortable with going mascara-free, even in photos!

If you’re in Greenville, or in the surrounding South Carolina area and are looking for a beautiful, easy cosmetic treatment to indulge in (or just make part of your routine) check out Organic Tan Face and Body’s Lash Lift and Tint!
